Bio
Representative Paul Lee has represented District 86 in the Alabama House of Representatives since 2010 and now serves as House Majority Leader, a position his colleagues elected him to. A fourth-generation native and lifelong resident of Dothan, Lee has spent his career serving the Wiregrass region in both the public and private sectors.
Before entering the legislature, Lee spent 31 years with the Sony Corporation, retiring as a Senior Production Specialist. He now serves as Executive Director of the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center, a regional work training center that serves more than 400 individuals with disabilities in Alabama, offering programs and services including job placement.
Lee's public service began in 2005, when he was elected as a Dothan City Commissioner, a role he held until his election to the State House in 2010. In the legislature, he has served on the House Health Committee for sixteen years, eight of them as chairman, and currently also serves on the Ways and Means General Fund Committee and Legislative Council.
Lee is active throughout his community, having served as Houston County Chairman for the Wiregrass United Way and as a member and Vice Chairman of the Houston County Healthcare Authority for Southeast Health. He is also involved with the Alabama Municipal Electric Authority and is a longtime member of the Dothan Rotary Club.
He and his wife, Ellen Vise Lee, have one daughter, Beth, who is married to Chris Wilson.
