ALABAMA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HIRING PROCESS

All approved full-time job vacancies are posted either internally and/or externally with the exception of leadership staff positions. The Human Resources Manager accepts applications for employment. The Human Resources Manager and the supervisor for the hiring department conduct interviews and qualify applicants. The Clerk of the House, the supervisor and the Human Resources Manager select the most qualified candidate. Following approval for employment by the House Legislative Council, the employee of the Alabama House of Representatives is under the control and supervision of the Clerk of the House of Representatives. All job offers are contingent on a positive reference check and a positive criminal background check. The Alabama House of Representatives participates in the E-Verify Employment Verification Program.
